Paced by a third-place finish by Stephanie Helm, The College of Idaho women's cross country team picked up their first-ever meet title, claiming the championship at the Lewis-Clark State Invitational at Hells Gate State Park in Lewiston.
In a battle of Top-15 teams, the Lady Yotes defeated host Lewis-Clark State by a mere one point to take the title in the nine-team field.
It was a collective team effort, as seven different C of I runners ran under the 20-minute mark, led by Helm, who traversed the 5,000-meter course in 17:45 - the fastest time in school history and the fastest time in the Cascade Conference this season. Tegan Troutner had a personal best 18:35 to place seventh, with Maggie Miller in 14th (19:04), Stephanie Sparks in 18th (19:16), and Chantel Varland in 20th (19:19).
